Description

Piglet was born in the Hokianga and went to live in Auckland's Karaka Bay. When Piglet came to Karaka Bay an exploration began of the relationship between two questions relating to sustainability. Firstly, is it possible for a city to be sustainable, and secondly is it possible to renegotiate the traditional relationship between urban areas and rural areas? Karaka Bay explores and enshrines some of the changes of attitude which will be needed if cities are to become more sustainable. This book is a celebration of Piglet's life and explores the meaning and diversity of sustainability.
